Calling this done :) Took my auto-rig in Maya out for a spin. Had a lot of fun animating this. Simmed the cloth in Houdini. Rendered out of Unreal Engine 4.25 (time to move to 4.26)...found a cool 2d anime FX pack in Unreal's Marketplace, and couldn't say no lol
Also did a bit post work in After Effects.

Here's the same anim with Vellum is being to simulate the creature’s skin. The follow-through in the tail is also courtesy of the Vellum sim.
